Cancer has touched the lives of so many, including people close to me, which fuels my passion for raising awareness and getting more people involved in the fight. I feel very fortunate to play a small role in supporting ACS’s incredible work and helping others discover the difference it makes in communities and lives across the country.

Cancer has been a mortal enemy of myself and so many others for as long as I can remember.  Unfortunately, it has taken a lot of very important people in my life, including my Father, 2 of my Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, neighbors, and friends.  It has also affected others in my life, including my Mother, although they have been able to fight back and keep cancer at bay.  The courage I have witnessed first hand, in battling this villain, is why I chose to stand up and fight in any way I can.  Golf was a passion of my Father’s and something he taught me to love and cherish.  What better way for me to try and make a difference by volunteering my time and resources to a charity that fights the good fight, and celebrates a sport beloved by so many.

I joined the American Cancer Society Golf Classic Executive Committee because cancer has profoundly touched my life. I’ve lost uncles, aunts, friends, and even my cousin’s child to this disease, yet I’m also inspired by friends who are thriving as survivors. Supporting a friend currently battling cancer opened my eyes to the invaluable resources the American Cancer Society provides, like their 24/7 support line and the Hope Lodge in Rochester. I’m committed to making a difference for those fighting cancer and their families.

I am driven to help support ACS and the fight against cancer because I understand the profound impact this disease has on individuals and families. Having lost my mother to cancer when I was young and witnessing countless loved ones endure their own battles, I feel a deep sense of responsibility to support those currently fighting this relentless disease. My personal victory over cancer has helped strengthen my resolve to give back and offer hope to others. By giving our time and resources, we can all help advance important research, provide emotional support, and improve the quality of life for cancer patients and survivors. Together, we can make a difference and bring us closer to a world without cancer.

I have been proud to be a part of the ACS Twin Cities Golf Classic since the very first event. For me, this was a perfect opportunity to combine my desire to support the American Cancer society, and my passion for the game of golf. Seeing our community come together to fight against a disease that has impacted all of our lives has been inspiring. Thank you to everyone who makes this event a success!
